Discover that there is more to Komodo than its infamous dragons, as we explore the beautiful islands of Flores and Komodo.  Be mesmerised by the beautiful scenery, including Mt Kelimutu, a volcanic crater full of vibrantly coloured water, and fall in love with the traditional ways of life amongst the local people. Enjoy a day out on the water as we sail to Komodo and Rinca, in search of Komodo dragons and spot even more of the native wildlife, snorkelling in pristine waters to wash away any stress of coming face to face with a dragon. Discover idyllic Hot Springs in the middle of the jungle and solve the mystery of human evolution as you head to the archaeological site where the Flores Man was uncovered.  You had better be prepared to get to know the wild side of Indonesia as you join us on this 9 Day Best of Flores and Komodo adventure.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Sanur

Your Flores and Komodo adventure begins tonight, so make the most of the day explore the seaside town of Sanur.   Just make sure that you are back in time for the important group meeting this evening.

Day 2 Sanur to Labuan Bajo

Today we jump on a plane, and head to the island of Flores, then make our way to the small fishing village of Labuan Bajo.  Here we enjoy exploring this bustling harbour town, falling in love with its beaches and keeping an eye out for flying fox bats at dusk. (B)

Day 3 Labuan Bajo

This mornig we sail from Flores to Rinca, where we walk through grasslands looking for the famed Komodo Dragon in their natural habitat.  We then make our way to Pantai Merah, for a delicious lunch and some great snorkelling before continuing our sailing expedition to the island of Komodo where we continue to explore these untouched islands and their fascinating wildlife. We then set sail again, and return to Labuan Bajo, enjoying a spectacular sunset and dinner on board before reaching setting foot on dry land in the evening. (BLD)


Day 4 Labuan Bajo to Ruteng

Today we drive inland to Ruteng, enjoying the stunning surrounding mountains as we travel. On arrival into Ruteng we spend time exploring the village and checking out the local markets in the area, a great place to eat some delicious local food. You may also wish to visit the ancient archaeological site of Liang Bua, famous for the discovery of the Flores man or hike around the rice paddies. (B)


Day 5 Ruteng to Bajawa

Today we travel to Bajawa, taking advantage of the long drive to get some rest and admiring the gorgeous mountain views as we travel. After arrival in Bajawa, you may wish to head into the mountains to admire the idyllic Malanage Hot Springs, although the water is likely to be too hot to get in, the jungle setting makes this natural phenomena worth the trip. Day 6 Bajawa to Ende

This morning we head out to Ngada Village to meet with the local tribe and learn more about the traditional way of life.  The Ngada locals still practice an animist religion, speak their local Ngada language and live in unique natural. Afterwards we head to Ende in the comfort of a private vehicle. (B)

Day 7 Ende

Today we spend the day exploring the area surrounding Ende, stopping in local villages as we travel.  We visit the multi-coloured volcanic crater lakes of Kelimutu, close to the small town of Moni in central Flores. The stunning lakes in the volcano crater are typically blue, green and red, however they can vary are certain times.  We then visit the charming village of Bena, learning about the local way of life and enjoying the natural surrounding beauty of the village, before heading back to Ende for the evening. Day 8 Ende to Sanur

Today we make our way back to Bali by air, before unwinding and enjoying one last night in paradise. (B)

Day 9 Sanur

Today on check out, you’re 9 Day Best of Flores and Komodo adventure sadly comes to an end.  You are free to depart at any time today and you are sure to be left with 9 Days of amazing memories of untouched islands, traditional villages, majestic lakes and forests, infamous wildlife and welcoming people as you explored the beautiful islands of Flores and Komodo.
